White Concrete is a new concrete precast panel product currently under development. It is the invention of two New Zealanders, Greg and Lisa Brien, who have been working on it for the past three years. White Concrete offers some unique features and benefits:

The WHITE CONCRETE story started in 2006 when the company’s founder, Mathew Iggo, set about trying to answer the question that had been puzzling him for years; how do we create a more sustainable building product?

After 5 years of research and development Mathew finally created what he was looking for in 2011. It was a white concrete building block that could be made using only recycled plastic as an aggregate and high quality cement as a binder. Not only was this new building block stronger than its grey counterpart but it also offered superior thermal performance (saving energy and CO2) whilst being fully recyclable, reusable and sustainable.

White Concrete is a precast concrete building block that is poured, pressed, tamped and vibrated under high pressure in a mould. There are NO chemical additives used in the production process at all!

The White Concrete building blocks are a great alternative to conventional bricks and mortar and offer several advantages:

WHITE CONCRETE has a number of properties that make it suitable for façade cladding, load-bearing walls, floor slabs and roof tiles. The main difference with other building materials is its weight: only 1/6th of regular concrete. In addition, it can easily be processed without tools!

WHITE CONCRETE consists of three components: cement, water and aggregate. Our standard masonry blocks are 50% recycled paper (the same material used for making paper) and 50% sand. The paper is treated with a water-based mineral binder to form an extremely strong building block. These blocks can be used for walls or roofs.
