Nagarjuna Cement Limited was incorporated in May 29, 1986 under the Companies Act of 1956 as a public limited company. It is engaged in manufacturing of cement and supplying the same to real estate contractors builders, government companies etc. In December 1995 it came out with a public issue of 2,830,000 equity shares at a premium of Rs 100 per share aggregating to Rs 2830 lakhs. The funds raised from this public issue were used for augmentation of its existing cement capacity from 0.60 million tpa to 0.90 million tpa modernisation and expansion of its captive power plant from 20 MW to 23 MW setting up grinding unit at Nalgonda Distt AP for white cement with a capacity of 0.045 million tpa acquisition of machinery for quarry operations development of Quarry 3 at Mattapalli ie Yell
Nagarjuna Cement Limited was established in the year 1989. It is a company of the Nagarjuna Group. NCL started its operations of cement production with 0.90 lakhs TPA [tonnes per annum] capacity in 1992. The company is having good hold over markets such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
The company has a total installed capacity of 3.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). The plants are located at Simhapuri (Nalgonda) and Kondapalli (Krishna) in Andhra Pradesh and Kadapa (YSR District) in Andhra Pradesh.
NCL has set up an aggregate plant to produce different grades of aggregates which are used for construction purposes. They have set up this unit near Hyderabad with a capacity of 1,00,000 TPA [Tonnes per Annum]. This was the first step taken by the company to vertical integration.
NCL has also set up a 100% EOU unit at ONGOLE for the manufacture of white cement & putty to cater to the needs and demands of their customers in southern states like Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Telangana
Nagarjuna Cement Limited was established in the year 1976 with an initial capacity of 1.5 lakh tonnes and subsequently due to consistent efforts and adopting modern, innovative and eco-friendly technologies, the capacity was increased to 2.6 lakh tonnes in the year 1986 and further expanded to 4 lakh tonnes in the year 1997. The plant is located at Simhapuri(Nalgonda) which is 90 Kms from Hyderabad.
NCML was founded by Dr Rama Rao Guntur as a partnership firm with four partners namely Dr Rama Rao Guntur, S. Siva Kumar Reddy, B. Satyanarayana Reddy, V. Bhaskar Reddy. Later in 1981, it became a private limited company with S. Siva Kumar Reddy as Managing Director. In 1992, it became a public limited company with Mr D.V.S. Raju as the Managing Director and Promoter of the Company. And finally in 2001, Dr Rama Rao Guntur joined his son DVS Raju back in the company as Chairman & Managing Director after retirement from a long stint at NCL Industries Ltd (formerly known as Nagarjuna Agri Chemicals Ltd).
