The first step to making a pool float is to find a pattern that you like. You should be able to purchase one at any store that carries pool supplies. Once you have your pattern, you will need to cut out the pieces so that they will fit together properly. It is best if you use a jigsaw for this task.
After you have cut out the pieces, it is time to glue them together. You can use any type of glue, but it must be able to withstand water and chlorine. Glue is important because it keeps the pieces of your float from coming apart while in the pool. If you want your float to last longer, then use a waterproof glue such as epoxy or silicone.
Once all of the pieces are glued together, then it is time for assembly. You should first attach the supports for the seat and backrest onto the top frame. Then attach the side supports onto both sides of this frame and finally attach all of these parts together using screws and bolts.
