How Can I Choose the Best Hair Color for My Skin Tone? Here Are 3 Questions To Ask

By Belle in Hair Color

I have always been interested in how a person’s hair color can make their skin look more beautiful. It’s one of my favorite things to do for my clients as a hair stylist, to make their skin look more beautiful than ever before. That’s why I’m so excited about being able to share some of my favorite tips with you here today. We’re going to look at some basic pointers on what you should be looking for in a hair color and the best way you can use that knowledge to find your perfect shade.

The first thing you want to do is take a good long look at your skin tone and think about how it relates to your hair color. If you have very fair skin, then you probably want to choose a lighter shade of hair color that will accentuate your beautiful complexion without making it look too light. On the other hand, if you have darker skin, then you’ll want to pick a darker shade of hair color that will really brighten up your face without clashing with your skin tone. This is one of the best ways that you can keep your natural beauty without having to worry about any sort of unwanted

When it comes to choosing the best hair color for your skin tone, it can be difficult to know where to start! A great place to start is by answering these three questions:

1. What is my skin tone?

2. What are my undertones?

3. What is my natural hair color?

Skin Tone: First and foremost, what you need to determine is your skin tone in order to know how the color will appear on you. There are a few different ways that you can do this, but the easiest way to determine this is by looking at the veins on your wrist or inner arm. If they appear green or olive, your skin tone is warm; if they appear purple or blue, your skin tone is cool. Another way of telling if you have a warm or cool skin tone is by how you react to the sun; if you burn easily, you have a cool skin tone; if you tan easily, you have a warm skin tone. You may also notice that those with cool skin tones tend to have a pinker hue overall and those with warmer skin tones tend to have more yellow undertones (more on undertones below!).

Undertones: Undertones refer specifically to the colors that “underlie” your complexion.

If you’re planning to change your hair color, there are a few things to consider. You have to think about the length of your hair, the texture and whether the style will suit your face shape. But one of the most important things to take into account is your skin tone.

Choosing the right hair color can be tricky because there are so many different shades available, from rich brunettes and shiny blondes to warm reds and vibrant pinks. The key is to select a shade that complements your skin tone. Here are 3 questions to ask before choosing a new look.

How do I know if I have a cool or warm skin tone?

Our skin has undertones that affect its overall appearance. A cool undertone tends to be more on the blue side, while a warm undertone is more yellow-based. You can tell what type of skin you have by looking at the veins in your wrists. If they appear blue or purple, then you have cool undertones. If they look greenish or olive, then you have warm undertones.

What’s my current hair color?

Before choosing a new hair color, it’s best to know what shade you’re starting with because it can make a big difference for how certain colors work

One of the most common questions we’re asked is how to choose the best hair color for your skin tone. We’ve previously written about how to determine your undertone, but want to expand on this topic. Choosing the right color for you will take some research and probably trial and error. We hope that this blog post can help you avoid the mistakes we see often in salons (and avoid making them ourselves).

The first question you need to ask yourself is “what do I want?” Ask yourself how drastic you want to go with your change. Are you looking for a subtle change, a dramatic change, or something in between? This will have an effect on what colors you should choose.

The second question to ask yourself is “What do I like?” Do you prefer warm tones or cool tones? If you are not sure, read our blog post on undertone. Make sure that you know if you have warm or cool undertones so that we can help guide you in choosing the right hair color based off of your preferences and your skin tone.

The third question to ask yourself is “What part of my body am I more drawn too?” Typically speaking, most people are drawn to the same part of their body when choosing what hair

Choosing your best hair color is an art and a science. And there are many factors that play into what shades will look best on you, from your skin tone to your personal style. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the hundreds of colors available at the drugstore or salon, so we’re breaking it down for you.

Here are three main questions you can ask yourself to narrow down the options and find your perfect hair color:

Is my complexion warm or cool? What do I want my color to say about me? What is my style?

If you’re a blonde: Do you feel like your hair is one color all over? If so, do people often seem surprised that your natural color is different than what they expected? For example, they may think you’re a natural redhead when your hair is just light brown. If the answer to both of these questions is “yes,” then your skin undertones are neutral and you can go with whatever color looks good to you.

If you’re a brunette: Is your natural hair color an ash tone? If not, do people comment that you have warm undertones in your skin? If so, consider going with a warm toned brown or golden blonde. If neither of those apply to you, then it’s likely that you have cool undertones and will look best with a cool toned brunette or platinum blonde.

If you’re a redhead: Does your hair color have strong yellow undertones? It’s likely that if the answer is “yes,” then your skin has pinkish undertones and will look best with those same yellow tones in your hair. If this doesn’t sound like your current shade, try an orange-red for a striking look.

1. What is my natural hair color? Your hair color should be flattering and enhancing to your skin tone. Most importantly, it should look natural.

There are two ways to approach choosing a hair color that will look good on you: You can choose a hair color that is similar to your own natural tone, or you can pick a contrasting shade that works with your skin tone.

Hair colors similar to your own work well because they are easy to maintain and the regrowth is less noticeable. For example, if you have light blond hair but find that it often looks dull, try going a shade lighter or adding some lowlights of a darker shade. If your hair is dark brown but you would like to add some dimension and shine, try adding some golden tones or chestnut highlights.

If you’re ready for something new, consider going for an entirely different hair color than your own. This can be very flattering if it’s done correctly. For example, if you have pale skin (with pink undertones), stay away from ashy shades of blonde and choose instead shades with gold or honey tones in them. If your skin has yellow undertones, opt for cool shades of blonde or go for a darker brown with red or violet undertones for a more dramatic
