Limestone is fed to the mill by a weigh feeder which conveys it to a hammer mill where it is ground to approximately 90% passing 40 mesh. The grinded material is then heated to approximately 1450°C in a preheater tower/cyclone. The temperature causes chemical components in the raw materials to react with each other producing a clinker compound which eventually becomes portland cement after grinding.

Clinker is combined with gypsum, ground finely and blended for final product packaging or shipping.
