Sarawak, the largest state in East Malaysia, will play host to the inaugural International Construction Week (ICW) Borneo Edition, set to take place from May 13 to 14 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. The event, organized by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia in partnership with Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd, aims to promote sustainable infrastructure development and regional collaboration in the construction sector. Registration is now open for the event, which promises to be a highlight of the construction calendar in Southeast Asia. With over 3,000 participants expected to attend, the event will feature high-level forums, networking sessions, and the official trade exhibition, BuildXpo, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions. The theme of the event, ‘Innovative Construction for a Sustainable Future,’ underscores the strategic role of East Malaysia in driving sustainable infrastructure development. The event will also provide a platform for regional collaboration and knowledge-sharing among industry players, academics, and policymakers. The Construction Sustainability Summit is a limited edition event that requires a registration fee of RM150. This summit will feature prominent local and international speakers who will address topics such as green construction, circular economy, and innovative design. Speakers to Watch

  • Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who will deliver a keynote address titled ‘Transforming Sarawak: Advancing Sustainable Construction and Renewable Energy for a Greener Future.’
  • Sarawak Energy Group CEO Datuk Sharbini Suhaili, who will share insights on the future of renewable energy in the region.
  • Executive Office of Indonesia’s President, Dr Resdiansyah, who will discuss regional collaboration and sustainable infrastructure development.

The summit will also feature presentations by world-renowned experts in the field, including Prof Patrick Bellew and Prof Neil Thomas.
