1. The plot should be square or rectangular (north-east corner heavy).

2. There should be no depression on any side of the compound.

3. There should be no temple or graveyard on any side of the plot or house.

4. The road in front of the plot should be one-way so that negative energies do not enter your house through the main entrance door.

5. The main entrance door should never be right under a staircase; there should be a wall between them for safety reasons. Main door should also not open directly into another room (except kitchen).

The best vastu shastra tips for home improvement are :

Do not place any furniture or heavy object on the south-east corner of the house. This can cause financial problems for you.

The main door should always be in the north, east or north-east direction. The entry door in the south direction is not auspicious.

For good luck and prosperity, keep a metal wind chime in the southeast of your home.

Hanging a crystal ball in the north-east direction causes a positive flow of energy and keeps you full of positivity.

The kitchen should be located either in the south-east or north-west direction of the house. Do not cook food in front of the bathroom or toilet.
